These past couple of mornings, I go out around 6 to do a quick run before class. This morning, there was ice over the grass and trees, a thin blue layer on everything. After sprinting, I was so tired, I laid on the cold grass and watched the sky turn pink as the sun rose up. When I went back in at 7, all the ice was melting off of the petals and blades right before people started coming out. It...

Probably for every man there is at least one city that sooner or later turns into a girl. How well or how badly the man actually knew the girl doesn’t necessarily affect the transformation. She was there, and she was the whole city, and that’s that.

The Way to Jenn's Heart: Persimmons & Tea
Me: During break, we can have tea and hot chocolate and persimmons off the tree by my patio. Come!
Jenn: I'm like... in love with you. Take me away! Sweep me off my feet, Christine!

Simple Pleasures
A very warm cup of whatever (English Breakfast Tea Latte, Chai Tea Latte, Barley Tea, hot chocolate etc.) in very cold weather. When the weather is cold enough and the drink is hot enough, your fingers feel like they’re on fire between the temperature changes.
When you get in the car at the right now and it’s still warm inside from the sun all day, even though it is cold outside at...

I had my first long run in two months since the accident. It felt amazing. I’m sure I’m going to die tomorrow in the aftereffects but that kind of rush, it’s amazing.
After (a very slow) 4 miles, I ate my poor stomach to its limits at our potluck. Thank you to our lovely family that cooked dinner and played with me :) This Thanksgiving, I hope you know I am so so so thankful...

I have fallen in love with a vblogger. Is that sad or what? I have spent the majority of my free time in the past three days watching communitychannel on YouTube. Thanks, Molly. Best distraction before finals start. Sad, I live vicariously through a videoblogger.
But watch it.
Come to the dark side.
It may be awkward here.
By the way, on another note, has anyone noticed how incredibly lonely...

I really like Dixon Ticonderoga pencils. Everything about them is great; how light they are, the sun-yellow color (as opposed to the orange of Papermate pencils), the soft eraser (crucial!). These are my preferences when I’m using a pencil… which is almost never because I live in the 21st century.
My right pinky is more crooked than my left. It’s not just crooked in one...

1. I love rain. I want to lie down on the concrete or grass or wherever in my shirt and shorts and sleep in the rain. I love that smell after (or during rain); it makes me think of clean. Like that smell when people have been in water so long that you can smell the faint scent of water on their skin.
2. Math is incredibly comforting. I remember, when I was reading The Ear, The Eye, and The Arm a...

Please excuse
the lack of variation for the next few posts. I am currently in the middle of a great very dystopian, 1984-esque book from our generation. The female protagonist is a Korean-American girl and it strikes me how spot on the author is when describing Korean homes, Korean anything, etc. So…I’ll probably be dragging you on this journey through a very dense book with me.

Spiders
Spiders in Japanese superstition are messengers of God, meant to eat away the evil that get in the way of our lives. Spiders were praised by farmers because they would eat the pests in the fields.
Another Japanese superstition concerning spiders is it is bad luck to kill a spider at night. At night, however, it is alright to kill a spider.
