Snowballs
You know that really cliche example of how once things get rolling, it’s like a snowball. It builds up and goes on. That’s so true. Of binge eating, exercising. Of sleeping irregularly, and even regularly. Of studying. Of being sad or of being happy. You just have to get yourself started. That’s the hardest part but after that, it’s all downhill.

Imagine Me & You
H: What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Luce: It never happens. If there’s a thing that can’t be stopped, it’s not possible for there to be something which can’t be moved, and vice versa. They can’t both exist. You see, it’s a trick question is the answer.  Later on, Rachel is trying to hold onto Heck, even though she loves someone...

Peet's
The strong scent of coffee and tea lingers in the air, like any coffee shop. Couches, armchairs, and white high tables are scattered in a way that I know that someone neatly rearranges them every morning and customers, students, and random passerbyers come in to change it around: closer to outlets, nearer to the windows, out of the sunlight.  But most cafes are closed in: four walls and a roof....

Please don’t leave me.    Please don’t leave me.       I always say how I don’t need you.          But it’s always gonna come back to this.             Please, don’t leave me. Pink. To add to that last post, what a sad song. It’s got pretty much all the human tragedies: pride, fear, denial, desperation. Who else but Pink can turn human tragedy into a...

Sitcom life.
What I learned today:  Things like awkward silences and awkward moments are only funny when it’s on 30 Rock, Friends, Big Bang Theory, etc.  My life twisted into the episode of friends (Yes, I am referencing a sitcom to explain my life events) where everyone knew about Chandler and Monica but no one would say anything. Today became the “they don’t know that we know that they...

Dear runners/joggers,
I love it when you high-five me, smile ecstatically, or go “Heeeeeeeeeeey!” paired with a grin whenever we run/jog past each other while running/jogging. It’s like we have an inside joke that makes us grin whenever we pass each other. After somewhat masochistically painful nine laps, I run the tenth lap solely on the knowledge that you probably ran more and still had the energy...

Big Bang Theory
In an apartment, two teams play Halo. Sheldon, a socially awkward but extremely too-smart-for-his-own-good intelligent, is being brutally beat in Halo by Penny, his beautiful neighbor.  Sheldon: I don’t know how but she’s cheating! No one can be that attractive and skilled at a video game. (throws the controller down and walks away) Penny: Sheldon, wait, you forgot something!  ...

Adventure is out there!
All it takes is a friend, a bus (particularly the MTS 30)… or a car if you are lucky enough to have one, and determination to walk long distances.  Yesterday, Kay and I went out to explore different parts of La Jolla and Pacific Beach. We ended up with two hoodies, $1000 deposit in my bank account, an hour’s worth of art gallery hopping (JLin, hurry back!) a cartilage piercing, and...

Alive with the Glory of Running
I think sometimes, you need to take a night run. Everyone says it’s dangerous, you shouldn’t do it, be careful but it’s the fact that it’s reckless, adventurous, dangerous that cures daily idleness. It’s scary, of course, the possibility of not coming back, in whatever sense, but everything is. People have done stupider, more reckless, crazier things than I and have...
